Brief Intro.
Joanne studied in Temasek Secondary School where she was Head Prefect and also a member of the band, where she played the Tenor Saxophone. She was admitted to Anderson Junior College during the first three months while awaiting for the release of the 'O' level results, and it was there that she picked up volleyball. Later she brought what she learnt along to Victoria Junior College, and became a college representative.

Her break came after winning Miss Personality and Miss Elegance in the 2002 Miss Singapore Universe Finals where she went on to various hosting and acting projects while pursuing her education in the University.

Joanne eventually graduated from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore Wee Khim Wee School of Communication & Information with a Bachelor in Communication Studies (second upper class honours) and a minor in Drama and Theatre Performance.

She also maintains her personal blog A Jolly Affair. She also has a Twitter account where she shares short musings while being on the go, and a Facebook page for fan interaction, picture uploads and more!
